Oatmeal cookies, with corrections!

(Note: the first posting of this recipe had omissions, horrors, which caused the cookies, though delicious, to be odd…no problem now, all good! Whew!)

Makes lots of cookies! I got this recipe from our cousin Cheryl back in the 1970s, though she doesn’t remember giving me the recipe let along actually making them. They’re really delicious. (note: she does remember this recipe & is happy to see it again.) Thanks, cuz.

1 C softened butter (2 sticks) or 1 C shortening

1 C brown sugar

1 C white sugar

1 t vanilla

2 eggs, beaten

1.25 C flour

1 t baking soda

1 half t  salt

1 t cinnamon

3 C uncooked oatmeal, not instant, regular

½ C chopped nuts, raising, chocolate chips, dried cranberries (any or all of them)

Mix all of the above together in a big bowl. Place small amounts, like size of a golf ball, on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 12 – 15 minutes.
