Mim’s fantastic noodle kugel (pudding)

This tastes like a cheese cake. I got the recipe from a newspaper many years ago. It was called Fanny's fantastic kugel but I have made it a lot and passed it along, so my relatives call it mine now.  WARNING: not low in calories!

Mim's Fantastic Noodle Kugel

8 ounces of fine egg noodles (cooked as per package directions)
8 ounces of cream cheese (softened)
 8 ounces of cottage cheese
one stick of butter (or margarine) softened
6 beaten eggs
2 cups of milk (I used soy)
2/3 cup of sugar
1 t vanilla

Mix all, except noodles, of the above ingredients together until smooth, then add noodles. Mix well with a big spoon.
Pour into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan.
Top with the topping mixture.

The topping: 1 stick of butter (or margarine) melted
                      2 C crushed graham crackers or dry cereal like corn flakes or rice crispies. (so American!)
                       and 1 t cinnamon
             Mix all of above together complete and sprinkle over top of noodle mixture.

Bake in a 350° oven for 1 and a half hours.  Let cool. Cut into SMALL pieces for serving. You can serve room temp, chilled or reheat slightly. This is really good but obviously not low calorie or vegan. However, it's worth making for the compliments you'll get. Remember, SMALL piece. People will love this. Trust me.
