Award Winning Brownies
(what award they won and who awarded this prize I don’t know)

2 eggs
3/4 C sugar
1t pure vanilla extract
1/2 C melted butter (or margarine)
3/4 C Ghiradelli sweet ground chocolate & cocoa
2/3 C unsifted flour
1/4t baking powder
1/4t salt
1/2 C chopped pecans (or walnuts)
1 C bittersweet chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350F
With a spoon stir eggs with sugar & vanilla. Add melted butter. Stir together the flour, ground chocolate/cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir into egg mixture. Add nuts. Stir in chips. Spread into baking pan.
Use an 8” or 9” greased pan.  Bake 20 to 30 minutes.
Use the smaller pan and bake the lesser time for a chewy brownie. Use the 9” pan and bake for the longer time for a cake like brownie.

I used the 8” pan and baked for 25 minutes. They came out chewy.

I made these while watching the Olympics opening night ceremonies. Award winning brownies in anticipation of athletes winning awards. (July 27, 2012)
